Candice Berry is a single mother who recently bought a new truck, only to find that there were tons of problems with it once she got it home. One of the main issues with the vehicle was that it had faulty breaks, which made it dangerous to drive.

Since Candice does not have a lot of money, she went into panic mode. She knew that she absolutely needed to fix the faulty breaks, but she had no idea how she would afford the repairs.

Candice went to every mechanic in her town, but they all gave her estimates that were way out of her price range. Finally, she went to Adam Ely, owner of Hard Luck Automotive in Mustang, Oklahoma. Adam was previously a mechanic in the United States military, and he has made it his mission to repair cars for people who would not otherwise be able to afford them.

Adam keeps a toolbox in his truck and drives around looking for drivers who might need his services.

“When you go to a car repair place, you’re vulnerable,” Adam said. “The last thing you want is to be charged a $150 to have a mechanic tell you what’s wrong with your car when you already know that your car’s broken.”

When Adam heard Candice’s story, he knew he had to help her. He informed Candice that she would only be charged for the parts themselves, and that he would not charge her anything for the diagnosis or labor.

Candice was so touched by Adam’s kindness that she wanted to do something for him in return, so she cooked up a special surprise for him. On the day that he was supposed to fix her truck, Adam was stunned to show up to his garage to find a television crew waiting for him along with his family and someone from the local bank. What happened next truly took Adam’s breath away!
