Any father of a little girl knows how difficult it is to learn to do his daughter’s hair. Styling and fixing little girls’ hair unfortunately is a skill that don’t come naturally to dads, and Prince William is no exception.

Prince William strives to be a hands-on dad, which is why he recently admitted that he is attempting to learn how to do his 3 year-old daughter Princess Charlotte’s hair, even though he is not very good at it.

When William and his wife Kate Middleton recently visited Revoe Park in Blackpool, he opened up about his dad’s duties during a chat with another dad. Once a meeting spot for drug addicts, the park has since been transformed into a gorgeous garden thanks to the Centre for Early Child Development Blackpool’s “A Better Start” program.

One of the events that was scheduled to take place in the garden gives parents the chance to gather and discuss issues related to parenting and mental health, putting an emphasis on men.

While visiting the park, William talked to a dad who said he had turned to YouTube tutorials to get help doing his daughter’s hair. William said that he could relate to this, as he has had trouble doing Charlotte’s hair as well, saying, “Never try to do a ponytail! Nightmare.”

“Have you tried to do a plait? It’s the weaving… really hard,” Kate then asked her husband.

“I can do [Princess Charlotte’s] ponytail, but that’s about it as I don’t have enough hair to practice on!” William responded.
