New research has found that couples who make fun of each other are more likely to stay together longer than couples who don’t.

Carried out by researchers at the Appalachian State University, the study found that the ability to make fun of each other (roasting) is actually a sign of a healthy relationship. The value of humor is something that people often underestimate in a relationship, but it is actually extremely important to a couple’s longevity.

The researchers found that when you roast your significant other, it means that your feelings aren’t going to be swayed by seeing the “other side” of your partner. That’s why it’s important to call each other out on your quirks, as it creates a higher connection between you and your significant other.

Just make sure that you don’t take things too far when you roast your partner. The point of roasting your partner is not to make them feel bad about their insecurities. Instead, you should use roasting to make your relationship with the person stronger. It’s your way of telling your partner that you love and respect them, despite their flaws.

The old saying “laughter is the best medicine” is definitely true, and laughter is a crucial part of any relationship. If you can keep your partner laughing, they’ll be more likely to stay with you for years to come.

Dr. Dorris Bazzini, one of the researchers in the study, explained that inside jokes, pet names and other things people outside of the relationship just don’t “get” make a relationship stronger.
