Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle just reunited for their first public appearance since Christmas to attend a reception at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.

The sisters-in-law attended an event hosted by Queen Elizabeth to mark the fiftieth anniversary of the investiture of the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles. The women were accompanied by they respective husbands, Prince William and Prince Harry.

Though Charles was 9 years-old when he was “created the Prince of Wales” in July of 1958, he wasn’t “formally invested with the title by Her Majesty” until July of 1969.

Kate and Meghan had not been seen in public together since Christmas Day in Sandringham, and in recent months, rumors of a feud between the two have grown. This comes days after the British royal family was forced to release social media guidelines due to the amount of hate Kate and Meghan were getting online.

The family released a statement saying that the guidelines to in order to “help create a safe environment on all social media channels.”

Despite all of this, Kate and Meghan appeared to be in good moods during Tuesday’s event. When Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns congratulated Meghan on the upcoming birth of her child, the Duchess of Sussex made a joke in response.

“’I look rather different than the last time you saw me,” she joked. “Yes it’s sweet, we’re nearly there.”

We continue to hope that the rumors between Kate and Meghan are false, and we wish the Duchess of Sussex the best of luck with the final weeks of her pregnancy!
