Singer Luke Bryan and his wife, Caroline have been married for twelve years, and are essentially country music royalty. The couple seems to have everything going for them but things have not always been easy.
Though the Bryans are madly in love, they have been through ups and downs just like any other couple has. They first met back in 1998 when they were both students at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. He was a senior at the time while Caroline was a freshman, and he spotted her across the room one night at a bar.
“I had to drink a lot before I could go talk to her, but I did,” Luke recalled. “It was one of those situations for me, it was like, ‘Who is that and how do I go talk to her?'”
The two dated for the next year and a half, but they decided to go their separate ways after Luke graduated. It wasn’t until years later that they crossed paths again when Luke was performing in Statesboro, and Caroline happened to be in town.
From then on, the two were inseparable, and they finally got married in 2006.
Caroline had their first son Thomas in 2008, and a second son Tatum followed two years later. However, their family did not stop growing with the two boys.
Sadly, Luke’s older sister Kelly passed away unexpectedly in 2007. Seven years later, Kelly’s husband Ben also died, leaving their three children without parents. Without hesitating, Luke and Caroline agreed to take in their nephew Til and nieces Jordan and Kris, turning their family of four into a family of seven.
For Luke and Caroline, this was not a tough decision at all.
“We never thought twice about it,” Caroline said. “You know, it was never something that he and I had to sit down and talk about. ‘Should we take this on?’ We just did that.”
Though Luke and Caroline have faced some tough times, they have done so as a team, and they are stronger than ever! God bless them and their family!
