Fans everywhere are praying for singer Jerry Lee Lewis after he suffered a “minor” stroke two weeks ago.

Representatives for Lewis, 83, said that he is “currently getting treated in a Memphis hospital” and that he is “expected to make a full recovery.”

The representatives also said that the legendary entertainer “looks forward to getting back into the studio soon to record a gospel record and on the road performing live for his fans.” Lewis’ next show is scheduled to take place at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in April.

“We’re just asking for prayers and support and privacy,” his representatives concluded.

Lewis has had a long career that has spanned decades, and he has scored such hits as “Great Balls Of Fire” and “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On.” The Louisiana-born singer was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame back in 1986.

“He pounded the piano with such abandon that it’s a wonder it didn’t come apart,” the Hall said. “He is a defiant, reckless, indefatigable wild man that can rock you into oblivion.”

Lewis has also led a colorful life, doing things like marrying his 13-year-old first cousin (once removed), moving to Ireland for a time amid issues with the United States Internal Revenue Service and winning several Grammys, including a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Fans everywhere are praying for Lewis’ recovery.

“Rock on Jerry Lee. Get well soon,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “Wishing him a full and quick recovery.”

“The last man standing from the glory days of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash and Carl Perkins. Those were the days!” a third user added.
