Singing superstar Kelly Clarkson honored police officers in a big way during one of her concerts when she invited two Kansas City cops to join her onstage.

While performing in the Missouri city last month, Clarkson invited Kansas Highway patrol officers LaMont Jackson and Mike Pagel to join her onstage. The two cops had become viral sensations after they posted their take on the #PoliceCarKaraoke Internet hashtag, and Clarkson just had to invite them onstage with her.

After Jackson and Pagel joined her, Clarkson told the crowd that while most of the internet participants lip-synced, these cops did not!

“They’re keeping it real. They’re keeping it live,” she said.

After playing a short clip of the two officers singing, Clarkson stepped back and allowed them to perform “Stand By Me” in front of the packed stadium of over 15,000 people! The audience went absolutely wild for the two of them, waving their arms for the officers as they sang.

“I love them!” Clarkson exclaimed as she hugged them after the song. “Give it up for them—don’t let me interrupt!”

Though the two officers looked like absolute pros up onstage, they admitted afterwards just how nervous they really were.

“I don’t know what made me [more] nervous, my first traffic stop or going out on stage in front of 15,000 plus people,” Pagel said.

Many singers would not have been happy about surrendering the spotlight to someone else during their concerts, but Clarkson had no problem giving these two a moment to shine! Enjoy their performance below.
