An amazing video is going viral this week showing five teenagers team up to rescue an 8 year-old boy who was dangling from a ski lift.

The rescue occurred at Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, Canada, and the video opens with a man who is presumably the boy’s father holding onto the child’s arms from under the lift’s safety rail. As everyone looked on in horror, five teenagers teamed up to take action and rescue the boy.

Grabbing a piece of netting, the teenagers ran underneath the boy and held it there. Gabriel Nielson, one of the teenagers involved in the rescue, said that it took some convincing to get the boy to let go and fall into the netting. After they convinced the boy that he would be alright, he finally let go if his father and fell twenty feet into the netting.

“At one point, we were just like, ‘OK, you just need to trust us, you just need to drop,” Gabriel said. “And so then he dropped, and we caught him.”

Though the boy was unharmed in the fall, he was taken to the local hospital just as a precaution. Officials with the ski mountain said that they do not know how the boy ended up in this dangerous situation and that they have given the five rescuers free season ski passes to reward them for what they did.

We applaud these teenagers for thinking fast and taking action to rescue this little boy! For more on the story, watch the video below.
