During the final leg of one of his recent concert tours, country music star Garth Brooks found himself performing to a packed stadium in Lafayette, Louisiana. The energy in the arena was electric, and Garth was so pumped up that he started singling people out in the crowd and taking requests.

Suddenly, Garth surprised everyone by stopping dead in his tracks when he saw a cardboard sign that read, “Elvis Was My Last Concert.” Without hesitating, Garth moved closer so he could get a look at the person holding the sign.

The woman turned out to be a widow named Miss Laura who was at the concert with her daughter and granddaughter to celebrate her 89th birthday. She had not been to a concert since seeing Elvis Presley over forty years ago, and since she is a big music fan, Laura was very happy to be there! Garth was so touched by the sign that he gave Laura a birthday surprise that she will never forget.

Garth made his way to Laura in the crowd and introduced himself to her before saying, “You’re 89? You look fantastic.” Garth then serenaded Laura in front of the entire arena with the “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” and he even became emotional as he performed it for her! Laura had a huge smile on her face, and it was clear to everyone that Garth had made her day.
