A shocking incident just took place in the Middle East that has left parents all over the globe completely stunned.

A pilot who was flying a plane from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently had to turn the aircraft around and return to King Abdul Aziz International Airport when a mother informed the flight’s crew members that she had forgotten her baby at the airport. Video of the pilot’s discussion with air traffic controllers has since gone viral, as it was clear that none of them had been in a situation remotely like this one before.

The Saudi mother had been sitting on flight SV832 when she suddenly realized that her baby was not with her. She immediately went into a panic and begged flight attendants to have the pilot turn the plane around. The pilot could not hide his shock at the situation when he contacted air traffic controllers asking for permission to land.

“May God be with us. Can we come back or what?” he said.

“This flight is requesting to come back…a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing,” the air traffic controller can be heard telling his coworker.

When the pilot is asked the reason why they are turning around, he says, “We told you, a passenger left her baby in the terminal and refuses to continue the flight.”

“Ok, head back to the gate. This is totally a new one for us!” the operator replies.

Hopefully, this mother has learned her lesson and will keep better track of her baby in the future!
