A surprising new study has found that women with big butts tend to have babies with higher IQs.

Believe it or not, scientists at the elite University of Oxford have found that there is a correlation between your intelligence and size of your mother’s backside.

Researchers found that there are actually many good things about having a bigger derrière as a woman. For example, women who are better endowed tend to be healthier and more intelligent themselves. They also are more likely to be able to resist long-term diseases and have better cholesterol and glucose regulation.

Women with bigger butts having smarter children is linked to their bodily levels of Omega-3 fatty acids that are passed to infants in breast milk. These fatty acids play a crucial role in the brain development of a child.

Lest we are oversimplifying the study, research actually found that the intelligence of a baby has more to do with the mother’s waist-to-hip ratio, rather than just the size of the buttocks.

“Public health officials have harped on actively taking steps to reduce obesity, but it seems for some genetically lucky individuals, reducing their body fat isn’t as important,” this report stated. “A new review published by researchers at the University of Oxford and Churchill Hospital in the United Kingdom suggests that people who carry their body fat in their thighs and backside aren’t just carrying extra weight but also some extra protection against diabetes, heart disease, and other conditions associated with obesity.”
