Lilly Teach is a 9 year-old girl from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania who happens to have special needs, but she has no intention of letting this hold her back in life. Lilly has big dreams, as she hopes to one day become a doctor, a teacher, or to work in a grocery store.

One of Lilly’s favorite activities is going to the local grocery store with her mom Lisa so that she can watch employees bag groceries. Recently, her favorite cashier did something for Lilly that allowed one of her dreams to come true!

Two weeks ago, Giant Food Store employee Isaac Witte did something for Lucy that touched her mother’s heart so much that she decided to take to social media to share it with the world.

“We would like to recognize a Giant Food Stores employee named Isaac who made our day, just by taking his time with us. He was so present in the moment, so kind and understanding,” Lisa began. “My daughter, Lilly, loves to watch the “bagging process” at the grocery store. She likes watching how everything fits into the grocery bags, kind of like the game tetris. I believe its sort of therapeutic for her in a way. She has many dreams, one of them is to work at a grocery store and bag people’s groceries.”

“We’ve never met Isaac before, but as he watched Lilly approaching the bagging area, she started to get the first bag ready,” she continued. “Isaac, in a moment I’ll never forget, asked Lilly if she would like to help him and bag the groceries.”

An accompanying video shows Isaac carefully handing items to Lilly, who expertly places them into bags. Lilly’s face shows just how excited she was by the experience!

“Lilly was thrilled and so happy to have this opportunity,” Lisa wrote. “I don’t know how Isaac knew how meaningful this would be to her, but somehow, he did. He took his time with her and let her bag each item. She independently bagged all our groceries and told Isaac, ‘I love you.’ She doesn’t say this to everyone, but in the moment, I believe this was her way of saying thank you for seeing me and for letting me help, I love you.”

The post and video quickly went viral, with people around the world applauding Isaac for making Lilly’s day. Isaac was surprised by all the attention the post received, as he did not think twice about doing what he did.

“To be honest, I also have a disability,” he later said. “So I kind-of figured since … no one had given me that opportunity when I was younger I thought, ‘well, why not?’”

A few days later, Lisa and Lilly returned to the store to thank Isaac, and the little girl was treated to another amazing day! The store gave her a name tag, had her scan and bag items, and even offered her a job when she turned 16!

We applaud Isaac for taking the time to make this little girl’s day!
