Dogs are known as man’s best friend because of the large amount of love and loyalty that they show to humans. As a result, canines become very special to the humans who love them, and they really are part of the family.

Jason Gasparik knows this all too well, so when he came upon a stray dog wandering around town earlier this month, he decided to go above and beyond to find the owner.

Jason has always had a soft spot for dogs, so when he saw the brown Labrador wandering around Charlotte, North Carolina, he knew he had to do something to help her. First, he went and got the dog chipped, but he learned the chip was not registered. He then took pictures of the dog and posted them on social media with the help of his friend Becky Richardson, who quickly found the breeder through the chip.

The breeder gave Jason the name and number of the woman he sold the dog too, but tracking her down ended up being far from easy. When they finally found her, the woman said she had sold a brown Labrador to someone in Charlotte five years ago, but she could not remember the person’s name.

Though the woman kept records of all her sales, she was on vacation and would not have access to these records for quite some time. Jason knew that this meant that the dog would be reunited with her owner within a week, but wanting to get her back with her owner even sooner, he launched a new plan.

Jason made a hand-written sign and stood on a street corner Ballantyne with the dog for over three hours,  hoping her owner would pass by. This plan seemed crazy to some, but it ended up paying off big time!

Sure enough, an older gentlemen had been driving around looking for his brown Labrador Roxy, and he knew it was her as soon as he passed Jason! The man also had all the paperwork as well as photos of Roxy to prove that the Labrador really was his.

The story of what Jason did has since gone viral, with people all over the world messaging him saying that he is a hero. Jason has said that he did not do this for accolades, however, as he just wanted to reunite the Labrador with the owner who loves her.
