Honeycake is an adorable ginger cat who loves to cuddle with his owner. The cat has been through a lot in life, but he is overjoyed that he finally found the forever home that he deserves!

When Honeycake was just a kitten, his owner placed him and his two siblings into a garbage bag and callously threw them out of a moving car. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan witnessed this happening and immediately grabbed the kittens and rushed them to a local shelter for medical treatment.

Honeycake spent quite some time waiting in the shelter to be adopted, but nobody stepped up to take him. Unfortunately, Honeycake was living in a kill shelter, and the cat was soon placed on a list to be put down. When the rescue group Michigan Cat Rescue heard Honeycake’s story, they knew they had to do something to help him.

They rescued Honeycake and placed him in a non-kill shelter as they went about trying to find him a forever home.

Months later, Honeycake managed to find a nurse named Renee who was willing to adopt him. Honeycake had finally found his forever home!

“Today, Honeycake starts his new life with a SPECIAL person named Renee. Renee is a very nice woman and she said from now on, Honeycake (renamed Finnegan) will receive nothing but lots of love and kisses,” Michigan Cat Rescue wrote on Facebook.

They also posted a video that shows just how much Honeycake/Finnegan loves Renee, and she loves him right back!

“Yep I’m in love,” Renee can be seen saying as Finnegan licks her hand. “It doesn’t make much to get me in love.”

Finnegan has now been with Renee for two years, and they are just as happy as ever! We’re so glad that Finnegan’s story had a happy ending!
