A shocking video is going viral this week showing the moment a homeless man returned a bank card to a restaurant customer who had given it to him along with his PIN, telling him to take out £20 for himself.

The video opens with a man sitting outside at Harry’s Bar and Restaurant in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, United Kingdom. A homeless bearded man wearing a jacket and sweatpants then approaches the man and gives him a thumbs up before handing him a piece of paper and saying the word “receipt.”

As the customer takes his receipt, the homeless man shows him the £20 he took out. The two then shake hands before the homeless man leaves and walks down the street with a smile.

The video was uploaded to Facebook by Jack Fada, who was doing some work on a nearby nightclub when he saw the unbelieveable moment.

“Homeless man goes up to a group of people and asks for money,” he captioned the video. “The bloke gives him his bank card and PIN number and tells him to take 20 quid for himself. Don’t dare tell me Newcastle isn’t the greatest place on Earth.”

Jack later explained that he had captured the footage back in August, but he only just got around to sharing it on social media.

“I was working as a builder demolitioning the old Legends nightclub which is downstairs to Harry’s bar,” he said. “I would go outside now and then for fresh air and a cuppa and I see loads of homeless people sleeping and begging, so when I saw what was happening, I started to record. I’ve worked all over the country and I don’t think anyone is as kind as us Geordies.”

The video has since gone viral, with social media users everywhere praising both men.

“Renewed my faith in human nature after all the bad things that are happening up and down the country,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “What an absolute legend.”
