When Amanda walked into a vintage store with her best friend Rick, staffers had no idea just how much she was about to challenge them.

Amanda was set to get married that coming season, and for some inexplicable reason, her wedding dress was ruined three days before the ceremony. Desperate, Amanda went to The Way We Wore in Los Angeles, California in search of a replacement.

The Way We Wore is a vintage clothing store that was owned by Doris Raymond since 2004. Doris has spent over thirty years collecting and selling vintage clothing, jewelry, accessories, and she was happy to finally have a store of her own. The store has all kinds of clothing, including haute couture, esoteric, casual fashion, evening wear, and even sportswear.

The Way We Wore is featured on the Smithsonian Channel’s hit show “LA Frock Stars,” which shows the daily life of the store and those who work there. This episode features Amanda coming in to find her wedding dress, explaining to staffers that she wants something with an old Hollywood look.

“When Amanda came in, and it was three days before her wedding…we all immediately felt the pressure, like, okay, right let’s find you something that will get you out of her and get you married!” staffer Angelica said.

Another staffer named Nikki told them that they’ll “take note of what you took and pull out the same stuff.”

Angelica showed Amanda two different styles, and she made it clear that she preferred the 70’s inspired metallic brocade print gown. They then picked some evening gowns for her to choose from.

‘I can’t believe I’m in this situation!” Amanda exclaimed at one point.

When the staffers showed Amanda a white, sexy gown, her jaw immediately dropped and she said she wanted to try it on.

Amanda ended up trying on two gowns, with the first one being a Christian Dior-inspired 50’s satin ball gown.

“I feel like a princess!” Amanda said when she came out wearing the dress.

The second gown she tried on was a silk chiffon gown with floral embroidery, which she also really liked. Thanks to The Way We Wore, Amanda now has two wedding dresses to choose from!
