A group of kindhearted volunteers in Europe are being hailed as heroes after quietly granting the dying wishes of thousands of people for free.
The Ambulance Wish Foundation (a Dutch charity known as Stichting Ambulance Wens) enlists the help of hospital volunteers and medical transportation to allow immobile hospice patients the chance to check one last thing off their bucket lists.

“The Ambulance Wish Foundation shows that people who are terminally ill and bed-ridden can have joy, even if they are sometimes so ill that they pass away on the same day or as in many cases a few days later,” said founder and director Kees Veldboer. “Our foundation adds a quality of life to last days.”
