Sports can teach children many things about life. It can teach them about teamwork, and about how to take care of one another. Now, a video is going viral that shows a little boy taking care of his disabled teammate in a beautiful way.

Austin Weaver is a third grader from Belleville, West Virginia who suffers from cerebral palsy, which makes movement and coordination difficult for him. Austin has never let this hold him back in life and stop him from playing his favorite sport of basketball.

Austin’s mom Christina explained that her son has been playing basketball for a few years now, and that his coaches and teammates have always been supportive of him.

Christina was filming one of Austin’s recent games when she captured a powerfully touching moment between him and one of his teammates. As Austin ran around with his teammates, a tall player with the Number 50 on his jersey got ahold of the ball. Instead of shooting the basket himself, however, he got behind Austin and helped him take the shot.

When Austin misses the shot, Number 50 signals to his teammate to pass the ball back to him. He then takes more time to help Austin line up his shot as the other players look on. Sure enough, Austin shoots and scores, and he immediately begins to celebrate! Meanwhile, Number 50 humbly walks off the court as if he had no role in making the basket himself.

“Austin made a basket tonight!” Christina wrote as she shared the video to Facebook. “We’re so blessed to have so many people support him. A huge thanks to his team for always helping him and even bigger thanks to Coach Mike for EVERYTHING he’s done for Austin.”

The video has quickly gone viral, touching the hearts of people all over the world! Everyone has been praising Number 50 for being kind enough to help his teammate score.
