For the lucky ones, Valentine’s Day is a day to enjoy the people they love. For others, however, Valentine’s Day is a day of loneliness. That’s why Seth Stewart of Spokane, Washington has spent the last seven Valentine’s Days delivering hundreds of flowers to widows, military wives, and single women.

“Some of the stories are so touching,” Seth said. “No matter how bad you are feeling there is always someone thinking about you.”

Seth, 28, and his brothers keep a list of women who they deliver flowers to every year. In the weeks before Valentine’s Day, Seth also asks Facebook users to send him additional names of women who should be added to the list. Each year, Seth and his brothers deliver around 400-500 flowers, making the days of women all over their city. They find the reactions of the women so rewarding that they hope to deliver even more flowers in the years to come.

“Every single year we do this, there are always one or two women who break down sobbing because it means so much to them,” Seth said.

It’s so nice to see a young man doing something so kind to help women in his city have a better Valentine’s Day. This story is a nice reminder that chivalry really is not dead! If you would like to nominate a woman to be given flowers during Valentine’s Day next year, you can do so on the Rose Rush Facebook page.
