With all the negativity in the world today, it’s easy to forget that there are still good people in the world doing kind things for one another. That’s why it’s so great that this story is going viral!

Special education teachers Amy Meyering and Amanda Craft were eating at a McDonald’s in Noblesville, Indiana when they saw something take place that touched their hearts. As the teachers ate, they saw an elderly woman timidly walk up to a young man named Eric Haralson and ask if he wanted to join her for lunch. With a huge smile, Eric asked her to sit down across from him and enjoy a meal with him!

Amanda said that while she could not hear what they were saying, it looked like the two really hit it off.

“I don’t know what she said to him but he just started laughing and it was like a contagious laugh,” she said. “Like that belly laugh you get when you just can’t help but laugh along. It was really touching, heartwarming and you know it was just really fun to watch.”

“Being Special Ed teachers we just love to see people reach out and make sure they are accepting,” Amy added. “You do a nice kind act and it kind of reads that way.”

The two teachers snapped a photo of the pair, and much to their surprise, it quickly went viral.

“It impacted us and we thought about it and thought about it all day and when we were leaving we were like this is going to go viral. 117 likes. Two seconds later 200. It was amazing,” Amanda said. “And then this morning I saw WTHR and I tweeted them and said, ‘Girls, you are not going to believe this.’ I didn’t think that would happen but people are hungry for that.”

The two teachers told Eric before they left the restaurant that he was about to go viral, and they turned out to be very right about that! Find out more about this heartwarming story in the video below.
