Shane Burcaw is a 26 year-old man who has been confined to a wheelchair ever since he was 2 years-old because he was spinal muscular atrophy, a progressive neuromuscular disease that prevents him from walking and moving his limbs.

Because of his disorder, Shane essentially has no muscles, and he always worried that this would prevent him from finding romantic love. Thankfully, love ended up finding Shane when he least expected it!

Hannah Aylward is a 23 year-old, able-bodied college student who was surfing YouTube one day when she came across a video that she could not take her eyes off of. The video was an interview with Shane, who gave incredibly honest answers about his life as a disabled man.

Hannah loved Shane’s sense of humor, so she decided to email him, not expecting him to actually respond. He surprised her by sending a reply back right away, and before long, the two had struck up an increasingly flirtatious online correspondence. The two began dating long distance after realizing that they were both mentally and physically attracted to one another.

After dating for two years, Shane finally moved from Pennsylvania to Hannah’s home city of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and they have been inseparable ever since!

Unfortunately, many strangers that the couple meets find it hard to believe that Hannah is actually in love with Shane. In fact, most assume that Hannah is his nurse when they venture out in public, but the couple does not let this get them down. Instead, they have made it their goal to show others how strong their love is by creating a YouTube channel that has become extremely popular.

After watching these two for just a few minutes, it’s impossible for anyone to deny how much they love each other! We hope that Shane and Hannah enjoy many years of happiness together to come!
