Courtney English is a 23 year-old waitress who is eight months pregnant with her first child. Though she is far into her pregnancy, Courtney still works hard every day waiting tables at the Lamp Post Diner in New Jersey so that she can save up as much money as she can to provide the necessities for her upcoming daughter.

The diner where Courtney works is frequented by local police officers, so she was not surprised when she waited on a cop eating alone one day. After she brought the officer his lunch, the two conversed for a few minutes before she moved on to a larger table, where she was asked questions about her pregnancy. The group asked Courtney when she was due and what the gender of her child was, and the officer could not help but overhear the conversation.

After hearing what Courtney was going through in her life, the cop decided to perform a selfless act of kindness for her. Though his bill was just $8.75, Courtney was stunned to see that he had left her a $100 tip!

When Courtney saw the tip, she burst into tears and immediately ran to her manager right away. Her manager was so touched by what the officer did that he shared the story on social media, where it quickly went viral.

“There have been plenty of situations where she got a nice tip, but just the little remark was what got her,” he said.
