Ryan Belcher is being hailed as “The Hulk” after he lifted a jeep off of a man who was trapped underneath the vehicle earlier this month.

Ryan is a 29 year-old powerlifter who owns a gym in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Ryan works out five days a week, but his muscles were recently put to the test when he heard a crash outside of his gym. After hearing the crash, he ran outside and saw that a Jeep Cherokee had flipped over with the driver’s body pinned underneath it.

Four men were trying to lift the jeep off of the driver, but they were not making any progress.

“From there, I just kind of got tunnel vision,” Ryan said. “And then I grabbed the back, where the window was smashed out and lifted up and started pushing.”

Ryan was able to single-handedly move the vehicle off the driver enough so that the man could be freed. Paramedics arrived on the scene soon thereafter and rushed the man to the hospital. Later that week, Ryan went to visit the man, who has since been identified as 36-year-old Montrell Tinsley. The two shared an emotional moment together, with Montrell thanking Ryan for saving his life and promising to visit his gym when he recovered. Ryan in turn said that he was just glad that Montrell was going to be alright.

Though Ryan has a humble attitude, he is happy with his new nickname of “The Hulk.”

“I like being called the Hulk – my son’s favorite is the Hulk and he always says ‘my daddy is the Hulk,'” Ryan said. “To say I’m a hero, I don’t know. I’m glad to have been there and I was put there for a reason.”
