A new fad is going viral this week that allows people to enjoy a tasty sub without having to worry about the extra calories that typically come along with it.

The craze involves switching out the bread of a typical sandwich with pickles, and social media users everywhere are touting this move as delicious! One particularly tasty recipe involves layering pickled beef brisket, Swiss cheese and Thousand Island dressing in between pickle slices to create a low-carb version of a classic Reuben sandwich.

Another recipe calls for using pickle slices to make a tuna sandwich, and you can add fresh dill to go along with the salt and pepper to make it taste even better.

Subs aren’t the only thing that you can make with pickles, as you can make wraps too! One recipe dictates that you should place cream cheese wedges around a pickle and then wrap everything in a slice of dried beef. If you slice them into rounds, they make the perfect appetizer that your guests are sure to enjoy.

The video below will walk you through how you can take large pickles, slice and core them and then layer mayo, mustard, ham, cheese and tomato in between to create a sub-style sandwich. By the end of it, your mouth is sure to be watering!

I’m always on the lookout for hacks like this that are tasty while also helping us lower our carb intake. If you’re looking for something like this, throw out your bread and grab a pickle to make your next lunch!
