Ten years ago, Natalie “Nadya” Suleman made headlines when she gave birth to a set of octuplets via IVF treatment. Already a mother to six other kids, the media attacked Suleman for being a mother of 14, dubbing her “Octomom.”

One week after they were born, the Suleman octuplets broke the world record for the longest surviving set of octuplets in the world. The octuplets recently hit yet another milestone when they celebrated their tenth birthdays!

Suleman spoke out as they were celebrating their birthdays to say that the family lives in a small three bedroom townhouse in Los Angeles, California. While raising 14 children has not always been easy, Suleman said that she has absolutely no regrets.

“Space is so tight that some kids sleep on the couch,” the mother said. “However, each of the kids helps one another and their single mom around the house by quizzing each other on homework, practicing their instruments and doing chores like cooking, laundry, and dishes.”

“Yes, we are struggling. Yes, we are in financial hardship,” she continued. “They are incredible supportive. I don’t know what I would do without them. As time passes I don’t know what I would do with them. They are angels.”

Ten years after giving birth to her octuplets, Suleman hopes that she has proved all her naysayers who bashed her for having 14 kids wrong.

“Now that 10 years has gone by, I feel like I can relax and be myself and be real,” she said.

In the video below, you’ll see Suleman give viewers a peak at the octuplets’ tenth birthday party!
