Kimberly B. Phillips is a mother of an adorable 8 year-old girl named Neveah, who is non-verbal and suffers from Down syndrome. Kimberly and Neveah recently stopped by their local church in Columbia, South Carolina, where the congregation was serving food to members of the community in need.

While they were there, Kimberly and Neveah bumped into a homeless man named Tyion, and the little girl was immediately drawn to him.

Kimberly later explained that Neveah seems to know intuitively when people need her, and she always leaves people with huge smiles on their faces.

“Even around Christmas, she dresses as an elf and passes out candy to people in the community,” Kimberly said. “People are just in awe of her personality.”

Their interaction began when Neveah heard Tyion singing, and she was so drawn to his voice that she walked right up to him. He responded by picking her up and singing directly to her as he held her in his arms. Neveah then shocked everyone by singing along with him! Though she was not actually singing words, she was indeed singing with him in her own special way.

Kimberly was so touched by the powerful moment that she pulled out her phone to record.

“Love made her do it,” she said of her daughter. “She just knows how to draw a crowd – she just has a gift. I am just glad everyone has seen it and it’s gone viral – I just wanted to inspire.”

The video went viral immediately after Kimberly posted it to Facebook, and nobody was more shocked by it’s success than Tyion.

“…he read the comments with a big smile on his face :)!!!” Kimberly wrote in the comments. “You all have given him so much hope today!!!! He leaned down to Neveah and said…look what we did.”

Kimberly said that she hopes the video will show people how amazing kids with Down syndrome are and also draw attention to the plight of the homeless.

“You will be blessed beyond measure because they know and they want to bring you joy,” she said. “They are leading by example – and that’s how we should all be loving others.”
