Earlier this month, a group of construction workers were hard at work when they heard a puppy crying. When they looked up to the sky, they were stunned to see a hawk carrying a little six-week-old Chihuahua puppy.

Suddenly, the hawk let go of the puppy and sent him hurdling towards the ground. The construction workers ran over to the puppy thinking he would be dead, but miraculously, he survived!

After rushing the puppy to the veterinarian, they were even more surprised to see that the puppy had no broken bones or internal bleeding.

“It’s a miracle that he not only survived, but that the wounds on his head and chest are fairly mild,” the Austin Animal Center said.

After treating the puppy, the vet determined that the was a stray, so he sent him to the Austin Animal Center.

Workers at the shelter dubbed the dog “Miracle Puppy,” and they soon learned that he loved cuddling and playing with the other dogs there.

Shelter workers soon found the puppy the loving foster home that he needed.

“He’s so tiny, so you can easily see why he might be mistaken for a rat and prey,” Renee Keys, the puppy’s foster mom.

Renee’s son came up with a great name for the puppy: Tony Hawk!

The Austin Animal Center took to Facebook to reveal that they have received tons of offers from people looking to adopt Tony.

“Our little Tony Hawk (aka Miracle Puppy) has become quite the celebrity!… His foster reports that he’s doing amazing and is as sweet as can be!” the facility wrote. “They’ve received TONS of adoption applications, so once he’s big and strong, he’ll be going home with a new family, which means applications are officially closed for this little nugget. BUT so many of Tony Hawk’s friends at the shelter are still looking for their forever family.”

What a miracle that Tony survived and we hope he gets the loving home he deserves.
