During his time as a United States Marine, Adam Lewis learned quite a lot, but the biggest thing that he learned was to look out for each and every member of his team. This is a lesson that he never forgot, even when he entered the business world.

Adam loved being in the Marines, but he had to quit when he learned that his wife was expecting a baby. Though he was leaving the Armed Forces, Adam was determined to take everything he had learned there and use it in the next phase of his life.

Adam quickly found a job in office work managing a range of government contracts. The job paid well and allowed him to use the leadership skills he had developed in the Marines. All seemed to be going perfectly, until something happened that he never saw coming.

Though his contract was going well and his team had delivered everything that the government was asking of them, Adam was called in by his bosses and told that their project was not being extended, and that everyone would be out of the job by the very next day.

Adam was left with the heartbreaking task of telling them that they were all fired, but when he called them in to tell them in the conference room, he came up with another idea. He told them that while the bad news was that they were let go from their jobs, the good news was that he would ensure they would get new jobs that were even better.

Members of the team were not sure he could keep this promise, but Adam explained that they would help each other in highlighting the achievements on their resumes. He also said that they he would write letters of glowing recommendation for everyone on the team.

The team spent the entire next day working on their resumes together in the office, and they all left with resumes that they were happy with as well as letters of recommendation from Adam. Over the next week, all of the team members including Adam found new jobs one by one! They are all now thriving in their new careers thanks to Adam’s loyalty to them.

All managers and bosses could learn quite a lot from what Adam did for his team!
