Igor Loskutow is an artist from Estonia who is making a name for himself by creating beautiful works of wooden art using a chainsaw.

Igor is part of the Husqvarna chainsaw team, which travels all over Europe showing off their skills sculpting with a chainsaw. Igor’s latest piece is an enormous and intricate dragon bench.

Igor, who started carving back in 2002, started this piece by making the headpiece and the tail, carving out the basic shape of the dragon. He then shifted to making the seat, using the same pattern as he did with the headpiece.

Once he had finished the head and tail, Igor cut the details of the wings and carved the clawed arm that can be seen on the bench.

After adding some claw marks to make the piece look more realistic, Igor finished by polishing the seat of the bench and adding in some final touches.

Born in Talin, U.S.S.R. in 1962, Igor moved to Germany as an adult and became a freelance artist in 2003. Husqvarna’s Chainsaw Carving Team currently includes five members, with the other artists being Andreas Martin, Jens Mielke, Sebastian Siefert, and Florian Lindner.

Igor has created many other pieces as well involving owls, horses, and other animals.

It’s truly impressive that a wood carver using a chainsaw could create this beautifully intricate bench. Please SHARE this story so your friends and family can see this as well!
