Sultan Kosen holds the Guinness World Record for being the tallest man in the world, and he was just spotted using a walking stick to get around the Los Angeles International Airport.

Sultan is a 35 year-old farmer from Turkey who measures 251 centimeters or 8 ft 2.82 inches. His height is the result of a condition called acromegaly, which is caused by a tumor affecting his pituitary gland.

A few years ago, Sultan gave an interview in which he expressed hopes that his fame would help him find a woman, as he has struggled romantically.

“I want a car I can fit into, but more than that I want to get married,” he said. “Until now it’s been really difficult to find a girlfriend. They’re usually scared of me. But hopefully now I’m famous I’ll meet lots of girls. I’d like to get married.”

The video below this story shows onlookers gawking at Sultan and some even trying to take selfies with him. Some social media users said that they felt sorry for the poor farmer based on how he was being treated.

“Yes I too feel sorry for the poor fella, especially when you see people invading his privacy by gorping at him and shoving cameras in his face and treating him like some sort of circus freak. Shame on you!” one social media user commented.

We can only imagine how hard it must be to go through life in the way that Sultan is. Please keep this young man in your thoughts and prayers!
