Ryan Cook and his two friends had expected a normal night out in Corpus Christi, Texas, when they stopped to eat at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant. But it didn’t take long for their plans for the evening to change.

The boys spotted a homeless man sitting at a table near by. He wasn’t eating and seemed to be counting his change to decide if he had enough money to buy himself a meal. The homeless man, named Eddie, had a photo of Jesus laying on the table beside his worn Bible. The staff explained to the boys that Eddie came in to the restaurant regularly but never ask for handouts for himself.

The only handouts Eddie ever asked for according to the employees were snacks for his dog, Socks. Any food he received he would give to Socks first, and he often came in to get water to fill the dog’s bowl.

However, the boys just couldn’t get Eddie and Socks out of their minds. So Ryan, Joshua, and Alberto decided to do something special for him. They started out by purchasing him gift cards to the Chick-fil-A restaurant. But they wanted to do more. So they went next door to Dick’s Sporting Goods where they bought Eddie a new winter coat and hat, three shirts, and a first-aid kit. Dick’s also pitched in and donated $20 and a few extra items.

When Ryan and his friends walked back into the restaurant, Eddie was still there counting his change. His reaction to the boys when they approach him was nothing short of amazing.

Check out the video below and be sure to share it with your family and friends. Ryan says he and his friends just want everyone to know to be selfless and do good for others, then the world would be a better place for everyone.
