As soon as Kechi Okwuchi took the stage to audition for “America’s Got Talent,” it was clear that there was something different about her. Though her body was covered in scars, there was a twinkle in her eye that made it clear that there was something very special about her.

Kechi was only 16 years-old when she was involved in a plane crash, and she was one of only two people to survive. On “America’s Got Talent,” Kechi opened up about how music helped her to survive.

“Laying in the hospital bed, with bandages head to foot, not being able to move or do anything else, music was my escape,” she said. “And that’s why it means so much to me [now].”

Though all of the judges were excited to hear what Kechi would sound like, Simon Cowell seemed to be the most excited.

“We cannot wait to hear you Kechi, so best of luck!” Simon told her before she began to perform. As soon as she opened her mouth, it was clear that Kechi had the voice of an angel!

“Kechi, i have never come out openly to declare myself a fan of a star but today, i am one of your fans. I love you Kechi,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “not crying not crying…bless your soul, pray for us as obviously God listens to you…”
