In a new interview with ABC’s “20/20” that is set to air on Friday night, actor Robert Blake opened up about his private life like never before and revealed some shocking details from his childhood.

“The way that Robert Blake came into this world is very unusual. He came into this world despite the odds that were stacked up against him,” host Karen Sperling said in the preview. “His parents wanted to abort him.”

“They didn’t want him to live because he was the result of an affair that the mother was having with the uncle,” she continued before Blake walked over and said, “This is the bottom line truth.”

Blake had a lengthy career in Hollywood, getting his start in lead roles in Little Rascals beginning when he was 6 years-old. His career continued into adulthood, with his most well known roles being that of real-life killer Perry Smith in the 1967 film adaptation of Truman Capote’s In Cold Blood and then as the title character in the television series “Beretta.”

His career came to a screeching halt in 2001, when his wife Bonnie Lee Bakley was fatally shot in the head seconds after leaving a restaurant with her husband. Blake claimed to police that he had gone inside right before the shot to get his gun, which he allegedly left in the restaurant. He was eventually acquitted of her murder after a well publicized trial.

Bakley’s children later won a civil suit against Blake claiming that he was responsible for their mother’s death. A jury ordered Blake to pay her children $30 million, and he declared bankruptcy three months later. The amount he owed her children was reduced to $15 million after an appeal.

Blake will reportedly open up about his trial during the interview, as the trailer shows him blasting the police and prosecutors involved in his arrest. Check out the trailer for yourself below.
