John Denver and Johnny Cash are known as two of the most legendary country music singers of all time. A lost piece of footage showing the two icons performing together 42 years ago recently was found and fans are thrilled about it.

The video shows Denver and Cash performing “Take Me Home, Country Roads.” While Denver is the one who made this song famous, it was actually originally written for Cash. As soon as Denver heard the song, however, he knew he just had to be the one to sing it.

It’s amazing to watch these two artists sing this beloved song together. The way both of them are smiling ear to ear makes it clear that they enjoy performing together and have a great deal of respect for one another.

One savvy social media user found that this video was actually from a 1977 special of Denver’s called “Thank God I’m A Country Boy.” During the special, Denver sat down with a number of country music guests, and Cash was one of them.

This video has quickly gone viral, being viewed over 400,000 times! Social media users cannot get enough of it, as the voices of Denver and Cash blend together perfectly.

“Send this into space, folks, cause human achievement doesn’t surpass this,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “This is one of the greatest videos to ever surface.”

“The gravel tone and the cheery tone just… harmonize perfectly,” a third user commented.
