Fans of the 2000 movie Remember The Titans are in mourning this week after the death of Julius Campbell, one of the players who inspired the film. Campbell reportedly passed away of organ failure at the age of 65, leaving behind his wife, three stepdaughters, two stepsons, and five grandchildren.
Campbell was one of the real-life football players at T.C. Williams High School, located in Alexandria, Virginia. Herman Boone, the real-life coach of the Titans, said that Campbell played a major role in the integration of the team.
“Julius took it upon himself to lead the team and rebuild race relations,” Boone explained. “He talked to members of the team even up at Gettysburg about how we could come together. It was Julius who came up with the saying that our team is a team of one group of people with ‘one vision.’ And in order to win, we must have ‘one heartbeat.’”

“He was a very kind, compassionate human being,” Campbell’s wife Cindy said. “If you met him, you loved him.”
Campbell was portrayed in the movie by Woody Harris, and his line “Attitude reflects leadership, Captain,” is one of the most memorable lines in the movie.
Tributes have been pouring in for Campbell on social media from those who loved the film.

This one really hurts. I gleaned one of the best pieces of advice from this movie: “Attitude reflects leadership, captain.” https://t.co/0w9wj0TEdN
