Kenneth, Kenny, Kevin, and Andrew are four young brothers who are being hailed as heroes after they rescued an abandoned dog that they found who was desperately in need of help.

The four boys were helping a woman move in their Detroit, Michigan neighborhood when they stumbled upon a vacant house. As they looked onto the property, they were stunned to see a dog who had been tied up with bungee cords.

Without hesitating, the brothers untied the dog and brought her to their home, where they named her Sparkles.

It quickly became clear that Sparkles was starving when the boys who brought her home began feeding her bologna. She ate all the food, and then kept coming back for more!

Sparkles was so happy to be free that she bonded immediately with the boys who rescued her.

Eventually, the boys called Detroit Pit Crew Rescue, an animal rescue group that often takes in stray dogs. When rescue workers arrived, the boys asked tons of questions about what would happen to Sparkles if they handed her over.

“You could tell they really love this dog,” said Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue founder Theresa Sumpter. “They were protective of the dog and wanted to make sure the dog was going to a good place.”

Rescue workers decided to shoot a brief video with the boys in which they talked about the rescue. The boys agreed to participate if it would help Sparkles.

The boys then said goodbye to Sparkles and she was brought to the veterinarian, where she was found to be surprisingly healthy. She has since been adopted into a loving home, thanks to these four kind young boys!

The boys did not stop there, as in the coming few months, they saved two more dogs!

“These are two more sweet dogs rescued by the same 4 brothers that rescued Sparkles,” Detroit Pit Crew wrote in a Facebook post. “We weren’t able to take their pictures because they are in school today but we wanted to put a shout out to them and say thank you for being heroes to two more dogs. Both dogs are now on board with Detroit Pit Crew and headed to the vet’s office.”
