Old Lady is a 10 year-old St. Bernard who spent most of her life living on a puppy mill farm in Wisconsin. Thankfully, Old Lady was finally rescued from this horrible place and brought to a foster home so that she could live out her final years in relaxation.

Earlier this month, however, Old Lady got scared by a massive snowfall and ran away from her foster home. Her foster family and members of the community spent hours searching for her, but they could not find her anywhere. Making the situation even more desperate was the fact that Old Lady’s fur coat had just been shaved down, which would make it even more difficult for her to survive the subzero temperatures.

Over two weeks went by, and Old Lady’s foster family was just about to give up all hope of finding her alive again when something amazing happened. Seventeen days after Old Lady ran away, a man was walking in the woods of Zimmerman, Minnesota with his grandson when he noticed a big dog standing among the trees. The dog looked like she was freezing and seemed to have no idea what to do. Her leash had gotten tangled in the branches, leaving her trapped.

The man immediately called the police, who then contacted Ruff Start Rescue, a nonprofit that had been participating in the search for her. Since Old Lady was a senior dog, rescue workers had figured there was no way that she would survive the cold. They knew they had to handle the rescue carefully, as it would be difficult to get Old Lady to trust them. Finally, they were able to use some tuna fish to coax her into their rescue vehicle.

Though Old Lady was malnourished, her vitals were good otherwise. Rescue workers were baffled as to how this elderly dog managed to survive the cold for so long! It seems that Old Lady really is a survivor!

Now, Old Lady is getting ready to embark on a new chapter in her life. Find out what’s going to happen to hear in the video below!
