Dog shelters are full of homeless dogs who desperately want homes. Sadly, many of them will die at the shelter without ever getting the forever homes they crave.

Knowing this, Canadian couple Mark and Sharon Starmer decided to make it their mission to find the most overlooked of shelter dogs and adopt them. The couple currently lives on a large property with their 45 dogs and a grey wolf!

The Starmers first began this mission in 2004, and they have been going strong with their dogs ever since!

If you were to visit the Starmers’ property, you would be greeted by a rescued grey wolf, one Portuguese Water Dog, one shar-pei, two poodles, four St. Bernards and about 10 Siberian Huskies. Just look at how happy and content these dogs are!

These dogs are never bored, as they always have someone to play with. Their lives could not get much better than this!

Of course, caring for these dogs is far from easy, as the Starmers are faced with hefty vet bills, food, and grooming expenses. The Starmers have been able to make things work thanks to their hard work and the generosity of their friends as well as a food supplier who supports their cause.

In the video below, you’ll see the dogs having a blast playing on their large Alberta property!

“This video makes me so incredibly happy, i dont know why, i just see the woofers running everywhere so happily and it brings me so much joy, thank you so much for all you do for dogs,” one social media user commented, with another adding, “We need more people like you guys in the world. Great work!”
