Palm Springs, California is a city with a lengthy history of celebrities purchasing homes there. The city offers people the unique opportunity to live in homes that were once owned by some of the biggest legends in the entertainment world.

One of the most beautiful homes that has been lingering on the market for years is the home where Elvis and Priscilla Presley spent their honeymoon. The 5,000-square-foot house is located on an acre lot with a pool in the backyard, and it’s a wonder that it has been on the market for so long!

The home is complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, pod-style rooms, and a winding staircase that gives it a very unique look. It first went on the market back in 2014 for $9.5 million, but the price has changed a few times since then.

“Most of the homes in this neighborhood sell for about $1 million to $1.5 million,” explained listing agent Scott Histed.

The home’s size has made it more difficult to sell, as the homes surrounding it are half the size of it. The market itself in Palm Springs has also made it a harder sell.

“It’s going to take a very specific buyer who wants to spend a few million on 5,000 square feet of space for a secondary home,” said Histed. “Since Palm Springs is much more of a secondary residence–style city, the market just moves a little slower as well.”

While the celebrity history in the home is undoubtedly very cool, Histed believes the architecture is the main draw to it.

Though it’s been on the market for a long time, Histed is still confident that it will sell.

“I’m optimistic,” he said. “This house is beautiful—it just isn’t for everyone. The right person will come along.”

Indeed, in real estate you really need just one buyer for a house. In this case, for $9.5 million, this buyer would most likely be an Elvis fan!
