Michael L. Brown was onboard a British Airways flight perusing through the in-flight menu when he noticed a truly bizarre warning written on it in fine print. He was so puzzled by the warning that he posted a photo of it to social media, where it quickly went viral.

It’s common for menus to include warnings for various allergens or raw food. However, I must say that I’ve never seen a menu warn of possible BULLET FRAGMENTS in food!

Under a dish called “Home Counties venison stew,” the menu warned, “Due to the nature of the product, there is a very small risk of bullet fragments that could be found in this meal.”

“I travelled first class from Mumbai to Heathrow, and this item definitely wasn’t on the menu,” Brown explained. “On my second flight from Heathrow to Chicago I noticed this item on the menu.”

When he pointed out the warning to flight attendants, they were both confused and amused by it.

“The two flight attendants I spoke with had never seen or noticed this before but got a good laugh out of it,” he said. “One joked with me that this warning could be so all Americans on board couldn’t sue them. I told them he could well be right.”

British Airways, however, defended the warning.

“These warnings are there as a precaution, and are common practice,” said a spokesperson for British Airways. “We source the best British ingredients for our inflight menu and this is no exception.”

Social media users also pointed out that this warning is a common one.
