Andrew Lloyd Webber is a big deal in the world of musical theater. If you’re not familiar with him, he is the composer of several musicals including School of Rock, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita, and more.

One of his most famous musicals is the Phantom of the Opera. It opened in 1986 and is still being performed all around the world. An estimated 145 million people have seen the musical.

While some people may not be familiar with Webber, most of us are likely very familiar with one of his close friends. In 1996, Antonio Banderas and Webber became good friends when working together on the film adaptation of Evita.

Banderas is known for his work in action movies, but he surprised Webber with his musical talent as well. So when he was asked to sing at “Andrew Lloyd Webber – The Royal Albert Hall Celebration” for Webber’s 50th birthday he quickly agreed.

Alongside Sarah Brightman, Banderas performed the title song to Phantom of the Opera and gave the crowd goosebumps. His accent made an already amazing voice incredibly stunning.
