Back in July 2018, Dakota Nelson was hanging out with his wife Ream in the garage, and they were laughing and joking around as per usual. At one point, Dakota left to grab some tools, and he was horrified to come back and find Ream unconscious.

“We were working in the garage, goofing around and having fun, and [I] came back and she just was dead on the ground basically,” Dakota recalled.

Dakota’s 38 year-od wife’s face had turned blue, and she wasn’t breathing. Dakota desperately tried to perform CPR while his 11 year-old son called 911, and doctors said that Ream had been without oxygen for around 20 minutes.

Ream spent the next few weeks in a coma before she tragically passed away, and doctors still do not know what caused her death. Her passing has left Dakota alone to raise their seven children, who are between the ages of 1 and 16. Dakota has to work three part time jobs just to put food on the table.

When an anonymous donor heard Dakota’s story, he or she decided to give him and his family some holiday cheer.

Dakota was stunned when the anonymous donor gave him $10,000!

“Secret Santa asked we take him a $1,000 in gift cards, also $1,000 to another store and an $8,000 check,” said Nate Eaton of the East Idaho News.

Dakota could not help but burst into tears when he saw what this kind stranger had done for him. This serves as a reminder of just how powerful an act of kindness can be! Find out more about this in the video below.
