When young athletes find success in the sports world, they often end up spending much of their newfound fortune on frivolous splurges and lose sight of where they came from. That’s why it’s so touching that a video is going viral this week showing a young athlete who is just finding success do something truly powerful for his parents with his newfound wealth.

Brady Singer, the first-round 2018 MLB draft pick for the Kansas City Royals, decided to surprise his parents for Christmas this year by telling them that he will be paying off all of their debt. The 22 year-old baseball star posted a video of their reaction to Twitter on Tuesday night, and it has since gone viral, being viewed over seven million times!

“Today is very special to my heart. To give back to the two people who have given up everything to support my brother and I,” Brady wrote alongside the video as he shared it to Twitter. “I can’t thank them enough. Love you Mom and Dad.”

The short video shows Brady’s mother reading from a letter that he sent them.

“Thank you for everything you’ve done to help me reach my dreams,” the letter read. “There’s absolutely no way I could have done all this by myself. Both of you constantly took off of work and spent every dime you made just to put a smile on my face. My smile and appreciation for both of you has never stopped and it never will.”

“I will always remember travelling around Florida for baseball and trying to cheaply eat to save money and I never could because you all wanted me to have the best stuff so that I could pursue my dream,” the letter continued. “The money you all spent on travelling, gear, food and all those Gatorades I drank is much more than I could ever give you.”

Brady’s mother looks visibly shocked as she reads the next part of the letter.

“But there is something i want to give to you,” the letter stated. “I am paying off the loan to the bank. Also I paid off all your debt as well. Now instead of trying to save money every weekend to replace the savings account you drained while traveling to see me play baseball, you can spend it on yourselves because you deserve the very best.”

Brady’s parents could not help but cry as they read the end of the letter.

“I want you both to know how much I appreciate you and how none of this would be possible without you,” Brady wrote to them. “Your giving hearts helped shaped my tiny dream into a reality and I love you both more than you could ever imagine and will never forget what you have done. Now let’s go celebrate and Merry Christmas. Love always, Brady.”

God bless Brady for doing something so amazing for the parents who have always supported him! Check out the emotional video below!
