It’s no secret that huskies are very vocal dogs. They won’t often bark, but they will frequently whine, moan, howl, and chirp. We’ve all likely seen one doing exactly those things in one of the many videos around the internet.

Siberian huskies are also known for their love of music. Their ears will often perk up and they begin howling and “singing” right along to some of their favorite tunes. That is exactly how one husky was reunited with his owner after the two had been separated. They live in the city of Beer Sheva in the Southern District of Israel.

The man had reported his husky as missing and was devastated. Luckily, a group of teenagers at an archaeological site outside of Beer Sheva found a dog that fit the man’s description. They brought the malnourished and weak dog to the Israeli police who immediately administered some veterinary care to it. Then they reached out to the man who had reported his dog as missing.

The man had an idea to determine if the dog was really his. He told them to play the dog’s favorite song, “Shemesh” from an Israeli television show, and if the dog sang along then that was his dog. So that’s exactly what the officers did. As soon as the music began playing the dog’s ears perked right up. It wasn’t long before the husky was singing right along to his favorite tune.

The police officers contacted the man and told them that they indeed had found his dog. He quickly rushed over to the police station and sure enough, it was his missing husky.

The two shared an emotional reunion. The husky whined and howled in excitement as tears streamed down his happy owner’s face. The man says he cried all the way to the station.

Check out the husky in the video below and watch how the police identified the dog as the missing husky. Be sure to share this heartwarming story with your family and friends.
