Having a baby is a very exciting time in a person’s life, but it can also be very nerve-wracking. So just imagine if the chaos of giving birth came during the most busy time of year.

That’s right, your baby is going to be born in December. While you may think this is the worst time of year for your baby to be born, scientists say that isn’t the case.

Studies have shown that there are plenty of fantastic reasons to give birth to your little bundle of joy the month of December. So if you think that having, or being, a December baby is a bad thing, check out this list of reasons why you should be happy instead.

1. December babies are better sleepers. A study shows that babies born in December fall asleep earlier and faster than babies born in the summer months. Not only that, but December babies are more likely to become morning people than those born any other month of the entire year.

2. December babies live longer. If you want your baby to live to be 100, December is the best month to make that happen. Studies show that a shocking number of people with December birthdays have lived to be 105+ years old.

3. December babies have healthier hearts. Babies born between September and December have a lower rate of cardiovascular disease. This is probably at least part of the reason that December babies live so long.

4. December babies are friendlier. One survey showed that people born in December are less irritable and moody than people that are born in other months, especially those born in July.

5. December babies are more likely to become dentists. While this may or may not be considered a good thing depending on the person, it would at least be a good career if you find it interesting.

6. December babies are often the smartest in the class. Studies show that the younger students are in a class, the smarter they often are. So there’s an advantage of being a December baby too.
