Susan Boyle made her first appearance in the limelight as a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent. She was a frumpy, middle-aged woman who left a lot to be desired with her looks. However, she quickly taught the judges, including the harshest judge Simon Cowell, that you should never judge a book by it’s cover. As soon as her mouth opened, everyone present was shocked.

Ever since that first appearance, Boyle has been wowing crowds around the world with her angelic voice. Her very first album was a chart topper, and her recent Christmas album doesn’t disappoint. The album, titled “The Gift” includes Boyle’s rendition of the classic Christmas tune “Away in a Manger.” Boyle has been up front about her faith being an important part of her life, and her faith shines in this song.

She says she has been a Christian since she was a child and sang in the church choir most of her life. “I find that my religion gives me a direction in life and brings great happiness,” said Boyle.

In the video below, Boyle is performing at the Rockefeller Plaza in New York City. The background and lighting is magical as the children’s choir behind her starts out the song.

After the first few lines, Boyle chimes in with her amazing voice and proves that although she’s not new in the game anymore, she’s still got the same talent that made her a star. Without putting much effort into her work, or so it appears, Boyle will give you goosebumps, even if you’re not a fan of Christmas music. Check out the video below and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
