Julie Wilson says the best thing that ever happened to her family was her sister Dina. What was so special about Dina? She was born with Down’s Syndrome. Julie is now a photographer in New Jersey and using her sister as inspiration, she decided to take on a very unique project involving some very special subjects.

She decided to do a photo shoot with only children that had been diagnosed with Down’s Syndrome just like her sister Dina. She wants people to know that although these children have a disability, they have a ton to offer the world.

Julie says that the families of these children can still live very happy lives and that the children all have their own incredible personalities just like Dina did.

Down’s Syndrome occurs when a person possesses an extra chromosome in their body. It can stunt the child’s physical and mental growth. But the syndrome isn’t as big of a problem as it used to be due to all the research that’s been done.

Julie’s sister Dina passed away four years ago due to heart failure, something that isn’t uncommon in people with Down’s Syndrome. However, although Dina may not still be on this earth, she is still in Julie’s heart and mind every day.

In these photos, Julie wants people to see that these children still have just as much to offer the world as anyone else. Check out the video below to see more photos and be sure to share this with your family and friends.
