The a capella group Pentatonix has been a hit for several years now, and although all of their music is loved by their fans, it is their Christmas tunes that seem to top the list. This year they’ve taken a classic that dates all the way back to the 1700’s and given it a new spin. The song is “Joy To The World” and it was originally published in 1719.

Artists like Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey have done their own renditions of the song and now Pentatonix is putting their talent to the test with the holiday hit. To keep the true meaning of Christmas at the center, the group chose an empty church as the backdrop for their video of this song, and just like all their other songs, this one is quickly becoming a favorite.

Pentatonix covers a variety of songs and has their own material, but the group garnered fame when they appeared on the television show “The Sing Off” in 2011. Since then they’ve won a variety of awards including a Grammy in 2015.

“Joy To The World” is meant to be an upbeat song, but with the beatbox and bass effects that Pentatonix gives the Christmas classic, their rendition really gets your toes tapping.

You won’t be able to help yourself but sing along to this song when you hear it in the video below, so check it out and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
