A heartwarming story is going viral this week about a man who took the time to help a stranger in need one day, and it ended up paying off for him years later in a way that he never expected.

It all started when Chris Wright was driving home from church with his family and saw a woman walking on the side of the road in the rain. Chris continued driving home, but he couldn’t forget the woman that he had seen. After he dropped his family off at their house, he said to his wife Carmen, “I have to go back. I have to help her.”

Carmen said that though Chris had never done this before, she was not surprised by his actions.

“You know when you have an urge and a desire something to do good? He was raised that way,” she said. “He’s kind and generous to everyone. He’d never picked up anybody before, but he felt compelled.”

Chris ended up finding the woman and learning that her name was TunDe Hector, and that her car had ran out of gas. She had no money to fill up her tank, which is how she ended up walking in the rain.

Chris offered TunDe a ride, filled up her tank, and gave her all of the money in his wallet before they parted ways. At the time, Chris was not expecting to see TunDe again.

Chris had virtually forgotten about this day three years later, when his mother Judy was battling Parkinson’s Disease. Her health soon declined to the point where Chris had to bring in extra care to help her.

Both Chris and Carmen soon noticed that one of the nurses was particularly caring for Judy, who she went above and beyond to help.

One day, while she was talking to Judy, the nurse revealed that her life had been changed in 2014, when a stranger stopped to help her and set her on her way to achieving her dreams of becoming a nurse! Chris was stunned to realize that the nurse was TunDe, the woman he had stopped to help years ago!

“The encounter that had blessed them both three years ago, came full-circle,” Carmen said. “We don’t believe in coincidence. We’re a family of faith.”

Their story does not end there, as Chris overheard TunDe talking about some tuition from her nursing school that was still outstanding.

Days later, while she was out celebrating her birthday, TunDe got news that Judy had tragically passed away, and she immediately left to rush to Chris’s house to be with his family as soon as she heard. Though he was in the midst of grieving his mother, Chris decided to ask friends and family to donate to the YouCaring page that he had secretly set up to pay for TunDe’s tuition.

TunDe had no idea that he had done this, so she was completely shocked when Chris handed her a check of over $20,000 that had been raised for her.

Since this video was filmed, the money raised for TunDe has reached over $34,000! This story serves as a reminder that karma is real, and that doing something kind for someone else can come back around for you in the long run.
