Kid Rock is now among the list of people that is using their star power for a good cause this holiday season. The 47-year-old old rocker recently called up his local Walmart to spread some good cheer. He contacted Walmart in Nashville and paid off over $81,000 worth of layaway items. He credits actor and director Tyler Perry for inspiring him to perform the good deed.

Tyler Perry revealed last week on Instagram that he had paid off $430,000 in layaway items at Walmart in Georgia. Tyler said that he did the good deed after being inspired by someone else. Gayle Benson, the owner for the New Orleans Saints, paid off $100,000 in layaway items earlier in November inspiring the chain of good deeds that has since spread to more areas.

These acts of kindness are heartwarming to see this time of year and every other time of the year, but it isn’t just celebrities that are getting in on the act. According to ABC Action News anonymous people in New York, Colorado, and Pennsylvania have paid off over $130,000 worth of layaway items in recent weeks.

We should use these acts of kindness as examples of the good deeds that we can do. Even the smallest acts can mean a lot. Check out the video below to learn more about this story and be sure to share it with your family and friends.
